President William Ruto has announced that Kenya will soon deploy its initial group of skilled workers to Saudi Arabia, following the finalization of crucial agreements with the Saudi government. Ruto disclosed that the Saudi Arabian government has formally requested the first 2,500 skilled workers, expanding beyond the previous scope limited to domestic workers. Emphasizing the competitive salaries associated with these positions, Ruto highlighted the potential for Kenyan nurses and skilled professionals to work in Saudi Arabia.

During the launch of the Riruta-Ngong Commuter Rail line in Ngong, Kajiado County, President Ruto expressed his commitment to connecting Kenyans to both local and global opportunities. He affirmed that the Ministry of Labour would soon announce these employment prospects.

In November, Ruto, addressing unemployment concerns, indicated Kenya's intent to send at least 5,000 Kenyans abroad for work each week. The President emphasized the economic benefits of Kenyans working internationally, contributing to national development and enabling individuals to support their families.

President Ruto underscored his focus on leveraging foreign trips to secure opportunities for Kenyans, emphasizing his commitment to the country's development. He cited discussions during visits to Saudi Arabia, Germany, and France, where promises of job opportunities for Kenyans were made, and he pledged to follow up on these commitments.
